Land Survey

Larger gardens and sites with notable level changes need surveying by a professional before worthwhile design can take place. This is priced separately to the design.

2. Concept Design Pack
Sketch Plan: a top-down plan of the entire plot to firm up positioning of planting, terraces and other features.
Moodboard, Sketch Plan & 3D Visualisations

We’ll iterate the Concept Design Pack until we’re confident it nails the brief & meets our exacting standards. Then we’ll present to you:

  • Moodboards convey intended look & feel of the hard and soft landscaping
  • Sketch Plan shows paving, planting borders and other features from above
  • Perspective Renders give photoreal glimpses of your garden’s potential
  • Walkthrough Videos (optional) allow you to explore your new garden before a slab is laid

The Pack provides you the opportunity to feed in before Stage 3: Detailed Design work begins.

3. Detailed Design Pack (Build Spec)
Setting Out Plans are needed by landscapers – they include layout dims, drainage, paving detail, sections, construction details and more.
Setting Out Plan, Build Spec & Tendering
  • The Setting Out Plan is a detailed architectural plan from which a landscaping contractor can accurately price, lay out & build your garden, including:
    • Any agreed changes to the Concept Design Pack confirmed in writing
    • Construction details of specific garden features (walling, steps, decking, ponds etc.)
    • Section elevations where required
    • Drainage, irrigation, lighting & paving details where required
  • The Build Spec is a tailored JCLI-approved contract that specifies all materials & construction methods to be used in the build.
  • We’re more than happy to prepare all necessary documentation for competitive tendering; or if you prefer, we can make a trusted contractor recommendation to quote for and carry out your build.
Planting Scheme & Schedule
  • Planting Scheme maps the position & spacings of all new & existing plants in your garden
  • The Schedule lists the names, amounts & pot sizes of all new plants for purchasing

We pour our knowledge and passion into every planting design so each species selected has the best possible chance to thrive.

Whether it’s a low-key courtyard on clay or a sprawling country manor on chalk, we know which plants will work best for your garden’s conditions.
